My very sick little guy sleeping on the floor of the shower...
After a wonderful 4th of July trip our little guy, Teddy developed croup. We made one ER visit in Erie, PA in the middle of the night because he had difficult breathing but was sent home saying he just had a virus. Well, on the morning of the 6th the poor guy wasn't any better...actually, he was a lot worse. After that I brought him to our pediatricians office and he took one look at him and said you need to go to AI Dupont Children's Hospital ER immediately! :(
When we got there they took us back to triage right away and when the nurse saw him limp in my arms and breathing extremely heavy (stridors with every breath) she took us to a room. Within two minutes there was 8-10 people in his room. The respiratory team was there almost immediately and started treatments.
It ended up that he need two breathing treatments and two steroid doses. Because he didn't respond right away to the first breathing treatment they told me they wanted to keep him overnight for observation.
This is Bear sitting in the ER after two breathing treatments and feeling much better. The board behind him says "What is the one thing we can do for you today so we can give you very good care? Help me breathe easier! Is what the nurse wrote! :( So sad!
This is Teddy drinking his juice the morning after he spent the night in the hospital. He is doing much better and breathing easier for sure! Thank goodness!!!!!
